Zoe & Jonathan’s Uptown Indigo Wedding in Uptown Shelby, NC

I don’t even know where to begin telling you about Zoe & Jonathan’s wedding day! Both have the most amazing hearts, and getting to know them throughout their engagement was such an incredible joy. Being able to capture their love story was such a special treat for me! Through the entire day you could tell that the two of them were absolutely over the moon excited to be marrying each other, surrounded by all of their friends and family. The entire day was absolutely beautiful – from the florals to the custom made wedding backdrop, not a single detail was overlooked.

Zoe and Jonathan were married at the beautiful Uptown Indigo in Shelby, North Carolina. This is a brand new venue in the area – Zoe and Jonathan booked their wedding before construction had even been completed! I don’t think they could’ve chosen a better location because it was the perfect space for their wedding day. In fact, these two were the very first couple to be able to use the getting ready/cocktail hour space!

At the beginning of their planning, Zoe said to me… “I’m most excited for the actual ceremony because we are finally getting MARRIED! I am super blessed to be marrying an awesome man who treats me like a queen, so I’m most excited to finally be his wife. I also can’t wait for our first dance, which will be a fun salsa dance! Jonathan is from Honduras and our wedding ceremony will be bilingual to accommodate our diverse family members!” From the beginning, I knew Zoe and Jonathan had the sweetest love for each other and were so excited to be getting married. Their wedding day accomplished every single thing they hoped it would – people laughed, cried, and joyfully celebrated the two newlyweds!

Zoe and Jonathan, thank you so much again for allowing me to capture your beautiful day and for trusting in me! I have loved getting to work with you both during this special season of your lives, and I could not be happier for you as you start this new chapter together! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ramos!

(Earlier in the year I had the honor of taking Zoe’s bridal portraits. You can view them here!)

Zoe & Jonathan had the most amazing team of vendors! I can not recommend this group enough.

Venue: Uptown Indigo // Wedding Planner/Coordinator/Florist: Screen Door Diaries, Rachael Rushing // Caterer: Viva Chicken // Cake: Wow Supermarket // DJ: DJ RockCee Entertainment (Cesar) // Hair: Lanie @ Sugar Salon & Spa // Makeup: Mackenzie @ Sugar Salon & Spa // Bride’s Dress: Poffie Girls by Essense // Bride’s Reception Shoes: Betsey Johnson // Bride’s Ceremony Shoes: Kate Spade // Bridesmaid’s Dresses: Poffie Girls by Morilee // Grooms Wear: Men’s WearHouse // Officiant: Pastor Abner Ramos // Translator: Yazzi Ruiz // Second Shooter: Sarah C. Stewart

I loooved Zoe & Jonathan’s color palette! The champagne neutrals and plush pink gave the entire wedding a very classic vibe. Wait until you see all of their flowers!

Zoe’s bridesmaids were SO sweet – they cheered Zoe on, kept her calm, and made sure every part of the day ran smoothly. They made Zoe feel like a princess the whole entire day!!

Zoe chose to get ready privately – with just her mom – and do a first look with her bridesmaids! I personally LOVED her choice to do that. She got a couple of seconds alone with her mom, and got to stop and take a minute to look at herself in the mirror as a BRIDE with zero distractions! I think this is the part of the day where everything became real for her. So special!

I am a huge sucker for bridal party first looks… I mean look how sweet!

Like I said earlier in this post, Zoe and Jonathan were among the first couples to use Uptown Indigo’s event space for the entirety of their wedding. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and their planner, Rachael Rushing did the MOST amazing job bringing their vision to life! The floral design was incredible, the ceremony backdrop was unique & intricate, and not a single detail was overlooked.

Rachael and her team from Screen Door Diaries were incredible to work with. They executed every part of the day with grace, while making Zoe and Jonathan feel seen and loved. Rachael is so good at what she does, and if you’re looking for a wedding planner/florist, she’s your girl!

Zoe chose to not look at her ceremony space until just before guests began to arrive. It was so special to see tears come to her eyes because it was everything she had dreamed and more! I loved that she trusted Rachael, her planner, so much that she was not a part of set up at all!  And of course, Rachael did not disappoint.

      Rooftop portraits?! Yes, please!

While Zoe and Jonathan took pictures together, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour in a brand new space that Uptown Indigo debuted specifically for this wedding – Steeples! It was the same space that Zoe and her bridesmaids got ready in… scroll back and take a peek at it! And while guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the main floor of Uptown Indigo was being transformed into the most beautiful reception space!

      Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ramos!

Every detail was magical, Jonathan and Zoe were radiant, and Rachel had control over all the process while processing calmness & grace! Makeup, hair, and venue were perfection and every person involved was amazing! Thank you for fantastic picture memories of a fairytale come true!!!!
